What does it mean to ‘Cut the Cord’?

Cutting the cord refers to the process of replacing your traditional cable services with any combination of over-the-air (OTA) broadcasts via antenna and over the top (OTT) broadcasts via various internet streaming services. Cord cutting is a growing trend that gives consumers choice, flexibility and tremendous savings.

Will this end up costing me more?

No. Many people think that the idea of subscribing to a variety of streaming services will mean paying as much or even more as you do for traditional cable.

First you'll want to remember that there are no hardware rental fees with streaming like there are with cable.

Second you will not subscribe to each of the streaming services for 12 months of the year. There are no contracts with streaming services. They are month to month subscriptions that you can turn on and off whenever you want.

With cable you pay the same amount no matter how much or little you use it, and this is what most people are trying to get away from.

With streaming you will be in full control of how much you spend each month based on what streaming services you subscribe to allowing you to control how much you spend each month.

That is the true cost effectiveness of cord cutting and why using a variety of streaming services is the best approach.
