What does it mean to ‘Cut the Cord’?

Cutting the cord refers to the process of replacing your traditional cable services with any combination of over-the-air (OTA) broadcasts via antenna and over the top (OTT) broadcasts via various internet streaming services. Cord cutting is a growing trend that gives consumers choice, flexibility and tremendous savings.

How does Kutko help?

When people make the decision to cut the cable cord they start by doing an initial search online or by getting advice from various friends and family members. You'll hear and read about a wide variety of approaches to cutting the cord and it's hard to know what is best specifically for you. It’s also hard to navigate all of the information out there and determine what is best as a Canadian. A vast majority of the information you will find online is written for the US market and not tailored to Canada.

We started our cord cutting journey the same way and one of the main reasons we started this business.

We'll help you make sense of it all. Advise you what can and can't be done in Canada and help you figure out what will work best for your specific needs. We'll then help you set it all up, teach you how to be a cord cutter and then offer ongoing support if you have any additional questions along the way.

Here are some typical questions we get during our free phone consultation:

  • What hardware do I need to stream?

  • How do I watch the specific shows I like?

  • How fast should my internet be?

  • What internet provider should I choose?

Your own personal cord cutting consultant. We guide you through the world of streaming, showing you how to use the various services. More importantly we will show you how you can watch what you want to watch and never have to deal with the cable company ever again.

We can do this because we are cord cutters ourselves and we’re subscribers to many of the streaming services here, so we know what’s on them and how to use them.

Were the only service of it's kind in Canada and we've been helping Canadians cut the cable cord since 2013.

Do you help people outside of Canada?

Yes. Although the majority of our customers are Canadians we also have helped people cut the cord in a variety of other countries.

Why do I need a consultant?

The world of streaming is constantly evolving and changing as is the technology. We are always testing new devices and new streaming services so we can answer any questions you may have and advise you on things you may not have even thought of.

This includes helping you pick and choose a internet service provider, a streaming device and the right streaming services for your specific watching habits.

The way people watch TV has changed and Kutko is here to teach you about this new world and how to be a cord cutter.

Who is Kutko?

Will this end up costing me more?

No. Many people think that the idea of subscribing to a variety of streaming services will mean paying as much or even more as you do for traditional cable.

First you'll want to remember that there are no hardware rental fees with streaming like there are with cable.

Second you’re not going to subscribe to every streaming services for 12 months of the year. There are no contracts with streaming services. They are month to month subscriptions that you can turn on and off whenever you want.

With cable you pay the same amount every single month no matter how much or little you use it, and this is what most people are trying to get away from.

With streaming you will be in full control of how much you spend each month based on what streaming services you subscribe to allowing you to control how much you spend each month.

That is the true cost effectiveness of cord cutting and why using a variety of streaming services is the best approach.
